K–12 ESOL Education Consultant
CaseNEX, an online organization that uses a case-based approach to professional development and teacher training, is seeking an experienced ESOL educator to revise and develop ESOL five courses leading to certification in Florida. These courses are for teachers seeking endorsement, graduate credit and/or professional development in ESOL education. Consultant will be provided copies of existing courses when revisions are required or a course template for courses that must be developed, as well as guidelines for course development. All courses must be aligned to state and national standards (access provided).
This position is contractual and on-site work is not required. Each course will require approximately 25 – 40 hours of time and must be completed according to a deadline schedule starting in April 2008.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least three years of classroom teaching experience, hold a valid ESOL endorsement/certification, and have a minimum of a Master’s degree. Candidates must be familiar with the TESOL Standards and possess a research-based understanding of best practices in ESOL education, including teaching strategies and methods, assessment methodologies, differentiation of instruction, models of practice, and curriculum development. Candidates should also have experience creating and leading teacher professional development or graduate courses. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently according to a timeline are also required.
Compensation
Consultant will be paid $35 an hour with a maximum of 40 hours per course.
