Mercedes P. Cordero is Vice President, South. Cordero's experience as an Area Manager and Regional Director for Co-nect, a nationally renown school improvement provider, provided substantial experience in the area of school improvement and data-informed professional development offerings. Cordero also brings substantial K-12 experience that includes the successful piloting of three programs serving diverse needs of an English Language Learner (ELL) population in Miami-Dade County. Cordero specializes in helping partners improve teaching and learning through effective and innovative professional development solutions that address NCLB and other key goals. She obtained a Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Florida International University and a Specialist's degree in Computer Applications from Barry University, where she is currently completing her dissertation work for her PhD.

Dr. Reed developed her classroom and central office experience in Fairfax County Virginia where she was an Instructional Technology Specialist in the Department of Instruction for 6 years and she was a High School teacher for 19 years. From 1999 thru 2001, she was loaned to the U. S. Department of Education as the Technology Teacher in Residence in the Office of Education Technology. Dr. Reed holds a Ph.D. in Education Evaluation from the University of Virginia. Her dissertation is entitled. "Systemic Technology Infusion: Effects on Teachers and Students."
