  Session List 2008 - 2009

Welcome teachers from the Stephen Peters Workshop!

Registration for graduate and professional development credit is now open.

We are pleased to announce an online course using Stephen Peters' materials. This course is available for both professional development and graduate credit options. Additional professional development opportunities are listed at the bottom of the page.

Capture, Inspire, Teach Course

This course is intended to provide long-term support and follow-up for educators who have participated in the Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me? workshops as they seek to capture, inspire, and teach their students. Course participants will use case studies and online collaboration to help them strengthen relationships with students, increase cultural competence, address emerging challenges, and successfully implement and sustain classroom practices advocated during the workshops. In addition to supporting one another through this process, course participants will engage in culturally-responsive reflective practice aimed toward reaching, guiding, and motivating all learners.

Course dates
(Graduate transcripts for the July session will not be available until December 15, 2008.)
(Please review our new payment and refund policy.)

Professional development credit option: July 7, 2008 - July 31, 2008
Graduate credit option: July 7, 2008 - August 15, 2008

Graduate Courses

Through CaseNEX courses, educators are exposed to the latest research regarding content knowledge and instructional strategies. The convenience of an online course means that time spent commuting to class and money spent on gas are reduced. Participants collaborate with peers and receive instructor feedback from the comfort of their home. All materials and assignments are accessed and completed online. Courses are 8 weeks in length, and easy to integrate into a busy schedule.

The courses include multimedia cases with video of actual classrooms, students, teachers and administrators. Cases also include critical perspectives of leading education faculty from across the country, as well as student work samples and teacher lesson plans. The cases are "slices of life" that bring learning alive and form a realistic connection between professional development and the complex school environment. Case method learning encourages participants to reflect on what works, to collaborate on the design of solutions to instructional challenges, and to put theory into practice.
