Online Course Information

CaseNEX and North Georgia State College and University have partnered to offer a non-traditional path to the Gifted In-field Endorsement for Georgia teachers. The three, newly revised online courses meet Georgia's PSC requirements for Gifted In-field Endorsement and include a study of Georgia SBOE Rule/60-4-2-38.

Through CaseNEX courses, educators are exposed to the latest research regarding content knowledge and instructional strategies. The convenience of an online course eliminates the time and expense of commuting to class. Participants collaborate with peers and receive instructor feedback from the comfort of their home. All materials and assignments are accessed and completed online. With CaseNEX online courses, the learner is in the driver's seat, and never has this been more true than with the incorporation of apple iPod and Microsoft Zune-enabled cases. (With the iPod or Zune, you can now view cases associated with these courses anywhere and at any time, without the need of a computer.)

The courses include several multimedia cases, with video of actual classrooms, students, teachers and administrators. Each case provides a "slice of life" that promotes active learning and forms a realistic connection between professional development and the complex school environment. Case method learning encourages participants to reflect on what works, to collaborate on the design of solutions to instructional challenges, and to put theory into practice. There is a field experience requirement associated with coursework (1 course).
